Our team lends a helping hand to seniors in both long term care and in the community, through an ever-growing list of services including In-Home Support, Foot Care, and Ride Service.



In order to prepare for the next wave of COVID-19, Port City is working with Ocean View to provide staff for COVID related duties, including a Regional Care Unit (RCU).  We are looking to hire individuals to become a part of a response team to support this initiative. We are looking for those who want to make a difference to; those who are most vulnerable, their loved ones and our communities.

Qualifications for RNs:

  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Nursing Administration Course (preferred).

  • Demonstrated administrative experience and leadership skills.

  • Geriatric nursing experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process, nursing diagnosis, clinical assessment skills and problem solving.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle an asset.

  • Ability to work shift work.

Qualifications for LPNs:

  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.

  • Recognized Pharmacology course and experience in the administration of medicines.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with residents, families, visitors and co-workers.

  • Geriatric nursing experience preferred.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle an asset.

Qualifications for CCAs:

  • Certification as a Personal Care Worker, Continuing Care Assistant or Home Health Provider is required.

  • Experience in a long-term care facility.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Alzheimer and Other Related Dementia Provincial Certificate required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with residents with Alzheimer Disease and other related Dementia.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle an asset.

  • Ability to work shift work.

Hours of Work:  shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
